The Arc of Texas CEO Jennifer Martinez, The Arc of Texas President Gary Hidalgo, and The Arc of Greater Beaumont CEO Sarah Hardin met with Speaker of the Texas House Dade Phelan and his staff on March 2, which was also Texas Independence Day. The group discussed solutions to enhance the lives of Texans with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), including ways to better include Texans with IDD in their communities by
providing quality supports and services. Speaker Phelan also received a painting, which he is pictured holding, by The Arc of Greater Beaumont member, artist, and self-advocate Ashley Sattler.
