The Arc of Texas 2021 Impact Report touches on major events throughout the year. From fighting for equitable access to voting, to addressing healthcare disparities, 2021 was a year of prioritizing policies, legislation, programs, and partnerships that advance the equality and civil rights of Texans with IDD. Download the PDF to learn about our impact and become an ally of The Arc of Texas to support our continued work toward a future that is more inclusive; where everyone with intellectual and developmental disabilities can be part of their communities and
make decisions about their own lives.
The Arc of Texas is looking for individuals committed to the cause of promoting, protecting, and advocating for the human rights and self-determination of Texans with disabilities to join our team. We are currently
accepting applications for two positions.
Deputy Director of Public Policy & Advocacy This role will help support our public policy & advocacy initiatives to expand The Arc’s strategic visibility and inclusive community of self-advocates, family members of people with disabilities, allies, local chapters of The Arc, organizations, and advocates.
Administrative Coordinator This role will support The Arc by providing front desk customer service, assistance to the Finance & Operations department, and the Master Pooled Trust (MPT) department, as well as handling a variety of tasks to run and coordinate the day-to-day operations of The Arc.
The Arc of Texas has been awarded a 3rd year of funding by TCDD for the continuation of the Whole Person Project. Year 3 will begin in June 2022. As we wrap up Year 2 of the grant, we continue to seek input from self-advocates who have experience accessing or attempting to access mental health services in Texas. Telling your story is the most important part of advocating for the changes we wish to see. Please fill out this form if you wish to be contacted by Alex Cogan, the project lead for the Whole Person Project. She will reach out to you via email or phone.
