Today is COVID-19 Disability Call-In Day. Contact Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz to ask them to support dedicated home and community-based services (HCBS) funding during the pandemic.

What We Need

The U.S. Senate introduced a coronavirus relief package last week with no funding for HCBS. HCBS funding is crucial to help people with disabilities and older adults stay safe in their own homes and out of nursing homes and other congregate settings that are being ravaged by COVID-19.

Texans' Voices are VERY Important

Texas Senator John Cornyn is on the Senate Finance Committee, which is the committee working on current COVID-19 relief legislation. Elected officials MUST hear from their own constituents to know what we need. The more Texans who contact Sen. Cornyn today, the higher the chance that Texans are effecting positive change for all Americans who rely on HCBS.

The House included dedicated funding for HCBS in the HEROES Act (H.R. 6800), and the Senate must do the same in the HEALS Act. The need for HCBS funding is more urgent now than ever, with major outbreaks of COVID-19 in nursing homes and other congregate settings in the country. I ask you to convey the critical importance of dedicated HCBS funding to Senate leadership. Thank you!
