Monday marked the start of our trial challenging Senate Bill 1, a Texas voter suppression law targeting voters with disabilities and voters of color. The Arc of the United States is representing The Arc of Texas in the trial, along with The Legal Defense Fund, Arent Fox Schiff, and Reed Smith LLP. See press release for details.

This capacity-building grant helps self-advocates with developmental disabilities identify and achieve major activities to put members in a position to network across communities and increase their impact statewide. Applications must be submitted by a group led by self-advocates.
In 2020, the Health and Human Services Commission started a temporary policy change for respite and Community First Choice Personal Assistance Services/Habilitation provided in the Home and Community-based Services and Texas Home Living waiver programs. This change allows service providers to live in the home of the person receiving
services.
